Rav Kook Residences pay homage to the past while creating a contemporary architectural gem and a time-layered legacy for the future.
Modern architectural elements are interwoven with original work by nineteenth-century artisans including wrought iron and wooden elements and murals. The sophisticated residences are suffused with the rich history, heritage, and spirit of this iconic location. Meticulously restored historical buildings are harmoniously nestled among elegant contemporary buildings that blend perfectly with the atmosphere and aesthetics of the neighbourhood.
Gov Nadlan and Almogim Holdings, together with Israel’s premier restoration and contemporary architects and interior and landscape designers, are committed to capturing the essence of this unique location and creating an unparalleled luxury living experience.
“I planned Rav Kook Residences as a harmonious encounter between past, present, and future within a collection of preserved and new buildings.”
Rooted in the past but with a contemporary twist, Rav Kook Residences embody a deep commitment to preserving the architectural, historical, and spiritual aspects of the original site. As a creative architect, observation is central to my design process. I begin each of my projects by observing the surrounding area to get a sense of the context to which the place belongs and to understand the spirit that permeates it. I strive to tap into what the place wants to happen within it so as not to force anything upon it.
I planned Rav Kook Residences as a harmonious encounter between past, present, and future within a collection of preserved and new buildings. After studying its historical building elements, including the work of artisans who came to Palestine in the late 1800s and built this site, I set out to create modern architectural details that incorporate elements from the past while offering fresh inspiration for generations to come.

“Rav Kook Residences inspire creativity, art, and innovation while inviting residents to become part of the unfolding story of this historic location.”
In creating the interior architecture and design plans for this special project, I visualised different layers being revealed: layers of time, history, and materials. These layers evoke a sense of diversity, growth, and renewal. The threads of the past are woven into a timeless design that will evolve gracefully, just like the Neve Tzedek neighbourhood that houses these residences. The project is located on the site from where Rav Kook’s spiritual leadership and philosophy emanated and spread across Israel.
The residences are therefore inspired by an aesthetic that harmonizes the physical and metaphysical worlds and connects us to our roots and our heritage. Designed with exceptional attention to detail, the residences epitomize comfort and style. With the use of natural materials and a soft palette, the interior design provides a calm and tranquil space: a sacred sanctuary from fast-paced modern life. Rav Kook Residences inspire creativity, art, and innovation while inviting residents to become part of the unfolding story of this historic location.
“It was important for us to incorporate landscape design details that honour the history of the site among the heritage buildings.”
Upon taking in the site’s outstanding location and heritage buildings, our vision was to embellish the feeling of home with a “green carpet” aesthetic. It was important for us to incorporate landscape design details that honor the history of the site among the heritage buildings.
These details include an engraving on a stone water fountain inspired by an original drawing on the wall of the synagogue, and a brass laser-cut design embedded in the floor of one of the residences echoing a design feature from one of the preserved buildings.
“Trends and technology evolve over time, while the stories, methods, and remnants from the past remind us who we are and where we came from.”
Through Rav Kook Residences, we seek to create functional and meaningful spaces and buildings that draw on preservation and historical research as well as on contemporary planning expertise. Trends and technology evolve over time, while the stories, methods, and remnants from the past remind us who we are and where we came from.
Every stone, window, niche, roof, and doorway within this complex tells a unique story about Rav Kook’s vision of a community founded on faith, education, and craftsmanship. Our passion for revealing these stories from the past inspired us to join this extraordinary project.
